For Christmas, I want to buy a board game for my family since we don’t spend that much time together. I want to get a game that won’t cost a lot, and maybe be a classic family game, like the one’s from when I was little, so games that were popular in the early 90′s, but don’t say Monopoly, Clue, Boggle, Scrabble, or Yatzee. And it has to be a game for 2-5 people or more.

I used to play Boggle and Scrabble online at games.com then it was taken over by Atari/games.com I Have not found any online Boggle or Scrabble games that even compare with the Atari site, like being able to choose multiple rooms and the chat options. My question is does anyone know or heard any buzz that these games would become available again the way they were offered on the 2 sites I mentioned?

I, too, played the Atari Boggle – and really miss it! the closest I have found is a game on Yahoo called Word Racer. It is a different grid than Boggle, with 4 rounds per game, each with a different grid. I really like it. Hope this helps.. Jo

I am curious how long each game has been around. I rmember first playing scrabble in 1980 and then Boggle around 1988. I am wondering when they first were sold.

Scrabble was invented in the 30′s if I remember correctly but it had a different name. It was 1948 that it was first manufactured under the name scrabble.

I have no idea. It’s been a religion as long as I can remember. I think it may be a movement within the fundamentalists or evangelicals.

i do not know what these game are called.
you have to find a message inside of words.
such as:
claclawsuse
it is “hidden claws” because the word claws is hidden withen the word clause.
or:
Wise
W
normally when someone writes a “W” they write it with curved sides making it look like an “ass” so it becomes the term “Wise Ass”
